I remember Don Roher (sp?) who often worked the south tower at Ballona Creek. I moved back to the LA area in the mid 1990s. I wished I had seen him before he retired. I taught sailing in the lagoon, working for Ray Pestano, summer 1955. I washed dishes at the Flying Jib for a while. My best friend's girl friend worked at the Dutch Village. We lived two houses from the Crums. I believe you knew them. I now live and ski in Colorado. My son still surfs, but I quit in my college days. Thanks again.

Hi, Joe, I lifeguarded the beach where you lived off and on back then. Maybe you were that hot surfer kid I used to watch from my tower.

I grew up (1940s and 50s) just north of the Mae Murray house at 6209 Ocean Front Walk. Her house was moved back from the beach to the Lagoon, I think in the 1940s. I knew a family (13 kids) that lived in the Mae Murray house. I played with Nicky. About 1954 I started surfing the Creek. Thanks for the memories.
